Job description: Job Responsibilities: 1. Promotes coffee consumption by educating guests, preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and cookies. 2. Welcomes guests by determining their coffee interests and needs. 3. Responds to guests’ orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner. 4. Educates guests by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions. 5. Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, macchiato, expresso, cafe latte, and cappuccino. 6. Generates revenues by attracting new guests; defining new and expanded services and products. 7. Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for the coffee bar. 8. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs. 9. Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations. 10. Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes, implementing changes, maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar. 11. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications, maintaining personal networks. 12. Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. 13. Cleans and sanitizes work areas, utensils, and equipment. 14. Cleans service and seating areas. 15. Checks temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning. 16. Describe menu items to guests and suggest products that might appeal to them. 17. Orders, receives, and stocks supplies and retail products. 18. Provide guests with product details, such as coffee blend and preparation descriptions. 19. Receives and processes guests payments. 20. Stocks service stations with paper products and beverage preparation items. 21. Takes out garbage. 22. Weighs, roasts, grinds, and packs coffee beans for guests. 23. Demonstrates the use of retail equipment, such as espresso machines. 24. Set up and restock product displays.
